Common Good Golf Day
Mowbray, Cape Town
Are you looking to do good while having some fun? Join us at Common Good’s annual Golf Day on 13 April 2018.
Funds raised will be “putt” to good use driving early childhood development, chipping away at unemployment and helping learners out of the rough through education initiatives.
Common Good’s vision is for a city where individuals and communities impacted by poverty and injustice are flourishing physically, spiritually, economically and socially. Last year we celebrated incredible impact in Cape Town:
- In Early Life we concluded our research project into the first 1000 days of a child’s life to inform our strategic programmatic approach.
- In Employment we implemented job readiness training into 7 mobile sites in severely disadvantaged communities and saw nearly 800 individuals graduate from our Job Readiness Program.
- In Educationwe reached 1200 learners through our Collaboration Schools Project. A highlight was the Oranjekloof Primary School Grade 3 systemic results for Maths increasing to 75%, which is a 50% improvement.
In 2018 we will design and begin to implement our research informed Early Life programme. In education we now have 3 Collaboration Schools from 1, and we aim to train 1200 people in our job readiness programme. In addition, we aim to place at least 800 people in permanent employment through our newly formed Opportunities team.
We would love it if you could partner with us in either playing, sponsoring a hole or even sponsoring a prize. We require prizes of a variety of value for our auction, raffle and for our four-ball prizes, where we would need 4 of each item for the golfers. If you would like to sponsor a hole we can provide you with an 18A Tax certificate should you decide not to advertise.
