IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUSBelieve what you will about him, nobody else has created more controversy, changed more lives, shaped more of culture, or shifted more of history than Jesus. No one has taught more provocatively about life’s meaning, nor walked the talk more authentically. Surely such a defining figure deserves a closer look – by skeptics, cynics and believers alike. You might discover – as millions have – that Jesus is not only as real as the Bible says he is, but that he loves you as much as the Bible says he does. That is the good news of Jesus.
DISCOVERJesus said we should love God with our minds. This suggests that Christ-followers need a steady diet of content that will stimulate a vibrant, life-changing faith. Enjoy our ever-enlarging menu. And keep coming back to this page for more.
GROUPSJesus called his followers to follow him in community. In a big church like ours we’re committed to building deeper relationships by meeting weekly in small groups to eat, laugh, catch up, and talk over the Sunday message.
MINISTRIESJesus met people’s spiritual and practical needs, and since each church is called to be ‘the body of Christ’, we’re privileged to be his hands and feet in meeting people in our church and city at their point of need. Take a look at our many different ministries which serve the different ages, stages and needs of our community.
SERVEJesus said that he didn’t come to be served but to serve. And serve he did – eventually pouring out every drop of blood for those he loved. We’re privileged to follow him – no longer living for ourselves, but for him and those he loves, serving others through our unique passions and giftings.
COMMON GOODJesus, in his famous story of the Good Samaritan, insists that his followers do something about the pain and injustice we see all around. Common Good is a NPO which exist to help Common Grounders notice and respond to the needs of the vulnerable in our City. Join us in making a difference.
EVENTSJesus was the master of small intimate gatherings and conversations. But his skill set didn’t stop there. He also perfected the art of pulling together large groups of people where big things happened.
WHY WE GIVEDid you know that Jesus talked extensively about money? A full 16 of his 38 parables were about money and possessions. The Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 verses on faith, but more than 2,500 verses on money. It teaches that ‘our’ money actually belongs to God not us, and instead of spending it all on ourselves, we should consistently and joyfully give a portion of it to the advance of his kingdom through the church.
