Living with Chronic Illness

A chronic illness / disease is a condition that persists for a long time, lasting 3 months or more.

Chronic illness is not necessarily a condition exclusive to older people. An individual may be affected from a young age by such conditions. Despite the obstacles sufferers must overcome on a daily basis, experts agree that people living with chronic conditions can live full and meaningful lives.

A  Redemption Group is a safe space where previously unexpressed or only partially expressed thoughts and feelings can be voiced, heard and understood. This Redemption Group offers individuals the opportunity to tell their stories and gain new perspective from the narrative. As a group we also spend time looking at the impact of an affliction on usefulness; the power of acceptance; and making sense of pain and suffering in the light of God’s word, and divine healing. The aim is to empower individuals to better understand and cope with their difficult situations.

2 Corinthians 4: 7-9.  But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
